New kit for next season

Due to our previous style kit being on a discontinued line & to fit the new changes within the club and new vision we are creating, for the 23/24 season we have a brand new kit – please see below links.

Please note that the sizing does come up big, so please speak to Nic or Harry if you have any questions before buying.  Due to the customisation, you won’t be able to return them if you get the wrong size.

Please note the goalkeepers kit hasn’t changed https://afc-leyton.pendlesportswear.co.uk/replica-products/goalkeeper-kits/

Summer training sessions

The club will remain open throughout the summer months, meaning training will be running every single week. There are so many physical, mental and social benefits of not closing down for summer –  we know the importance of this providing an outlet and keeping our players active and healthy. We appreciate that families will go away and may not be with us at times. However, similarly to a gym membership payment is still required whether you use it – as a club, we still have to pay for pitch and coaching fees. For any issues with this, please email: accounts@afcleyton.co.uk

We have noticed an increase in a number of players across the age groups not in AFC Leyton training kit and clothing. From a safeguarding point of view, it is vital players are in correct kit and we know who is who. Please ensure that players are in all Navy AFC Leyton training kit and not in a different clubs clothing.

Parents vs Coaches match (Friday 9 June)

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Parents vs Coaches match.  Here is the match report and photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/3NoFd7dzBzABbDKY8

T’was a lovely sunny evening, saw the Leyton club descending

Down the home pitch to watch Zak and Jake and Miles and Tosin fending

Off the parents with experience, their fitness, skill and focus

T’was the match we’d all been waiting for

The parents versus coaches

There were red bibs, green and yellow, dubious fitting ones causing laughter

With bibs so tight, looked like some parents were off to Pacha after

We began, it was official

With Nick ready on his whistle Reece, Sam spraying it around Dominating in the middle.

There was passion

There was spirit

There was wheezing every minute

Newbies playing to their limit

So so desperate to win it

Harry showed that he still has it

Hold the ball up, feint, then pass it

Karl was sprinting like a master

You’d run faster, he’d run past ya

There were goals

And there were battles

And some over zealous tackles

Desperate clearing, mis-timed kicking

Twisting, linking play then missing

Nyla put you through your paces

Harry’d tell you to tie your laces

Not sure who the 17 year old parent was with his braces??

But the parents to their credit

Showed that they were still athletic

Energetic

Intercept it

They would pass it

They would head it

Fitness tested, it was warm

Some showed class, some showed their form

Hamstrings pulled and muscles torn

Most won’t be walking come the morn

On the sidelines all our daughters cheered us on as we would pass

Or they’d happily be playing with each other on the grass

Whilst supporters all supported and enjoyed the summer weather

It was nice to see the girls from different age groups hang together

Big mention to the ladies Chloe, Julia’s, Nics and Katies

Showing you can win a match oh

Without having to be macho

Let’s be honest that’s the reason

We’re here season after season

As our girls grow, we’re there cheering

In the heatwaves and the freezing

Standing on the touch line screaming (In our heads of course) then dealing

With Grazed ankles, elbows bleeding

A wet sponge to help the healing

That strong passion, that proud feeling

It’s what gives this club its meaning

The community, the unity

The amazing opportunity for Our girls

And we’re thankful Hope we set a good example!

Atkins Physiotherapy

We are pleased to have our relationship with local physiotherapy – Atkins Physiotherapy Consultants Ltd. Atkins have been helping the public for over 32 years and are based in South Woodford on the high road (opposite Tesco Express).

This newly formed relationship is hopefully the start of a long-standing one which gives all players signed for AFC Leyton a 15% discount on physiotherapy. I hope we rarely have to use their services but with injuries a common occurrence in football I’m pleased to have a trusted, local and experienced physiotherapy team to help and support. If needed, please get in touch with them and quote “Harry” or “AFC Leyton” for a high quality service, friendly approach and a discounted rate. http://www.atkinsphysio.com
