Squad Girls’ Football is a programme targeted at girls aged 12-14 who want to get involved with football in a fun, non-competitive environment and play football outside of school.
It’s all about being with and making new friends, whilst having loads of fun!
Squad Girls’ Football sessions are designed to help participants improve their ability across many aspects of the game. From dribbling, tackling, and passing, to communication and leadership.
The sessions are designed to give the girls voice and choice and to build confidence. As a Squad Girls’ Football provider you are providing opportunities for girls to play football casually and have a positive experience whilst developing confidence, leadership and communication skills.

Why join Squad Girls
We are an official England Football programme provider for the Squad Girls sessions. All our sessions are led by our own coaches who are all first aid trained, meeting FA training requirements with DBS clearance. Our volunteers support our lead coaches and are also all DBS cleared.
All our development sessions such as this are overseen by a lead coach – Brogan, who is not only a lead for development sessions, she also coach’s in our youth teams and she is our first team captain! AFC Leyton DNA runs through her veins and she is a great role model to the youth, up and coming players. Speaking and coaching from first hand experience.
Being an independent women and girls only club, means everything we do is orientated towards building confidence and character, both on and off the field. We want young girls to fall in love with football in the first instance, then build on their ability and develop them to not only play with confidence but actually believe in their own ability too.
Many of our registered squad players started their football journeys in our development sessions and through their own dedication and commitment, playing in all weathers, listening to their coaches and working hard, have been pulled in for trials. Our coaching team are always looking for potential players to make the move. If and when they feel they are ready they will be invited to trial for a team when we have openings. Some players are happy just playing socially and are not looking to play for a team and this is absolutely fine also.
All abilities are welcome to our sessions.
I really enjoy the sessions, we learn lots of techniques and it gets me thinking more.
I have attended Squad Girls for a long time, the other girls who attend are really nice and we all enjoy the session together.
Our coaches are really nice and teach us many things that have allowed me to improve my football ability.
I really enjoy the small match we play at the end, its a lot of fun and lok forward to it every week.
Lily 14
Ellie enjoys attending every week, she loves her football and the coaches are great!
Ellie transitioned from the Wildcats session where she was taught the basic techniques in football. Such as ball control and movement. She reall enjoyed these sessions and so the move to Squad girls was a very natural one.
These sessions are certainly the next step from Wildcats, they are more disciplined and structured but the coaches still manage to keep things light and fun while delivering the sessions.
